Join us for a meaningful and memorable evening as we celebrate the incredible youth who make the North River Youth Coalition (NRYC) so special.

​

The Mikeal Steele Memorial Scholarship Awards Dinner honors the life and legacy of Mikeal Steele, who at just 17 years old touched countless lives with his kindness, leadership, and heart for others. Taken too soon by a drunk driver in October 2020, Mikeal’s spirit continues to shine through the youth who carry on his example of compassion, friendship, and service.

On April 23, 2026, we’ll gather at The Worthington to recognize the outstanding accomplishments of our NRYC members—young leaders who are making a difference in their schools, their community, and beyond.

• Attendance & Citizenship Award – Honoring reliability, responsibility, and dedication to the coalition’s mission.

• Youth Voice & Advocacy Award – Celebrating the courage to speak up and inspire positive change.

• Team Building & Leadership Award – Recognizing those who bring people together and lead by example.

• Positive Attitude & Communication Award – For spreading optimism and encouraging others through words and actions.

• Sportsmanship & Most Improved Youth Award – Highlighting growth, perseverance, and respect on every level.

• Academic Achievement Award – Commending excellence in the classroom and commitment to personal growth.

🎁 Silent Auction for Our Community

Guests will also be invited to participate in a silent auction, featuring generous donations from local businesses and community partners. All proceeds will directly support youth prevention programs and initiatives that strengthen and uplift our community.

Together, we’ll reflect on Mikeal’s impact, applaud our youth’s achievements, and look forward to another year of growth, purpose, and prevention.
